Types of Membership
| Membership Type | Description |

| Ordinary Membership | MRTs, regardless of hours worked, whether practising or not. Annual Subscription Fee $270 |
| Affiliate Membership | Individuals belonging to a profession similar to Medical Radiation Sciences and interested in the objects of the Institute, or who have been an Ordinary Member in the past and have either left New Zealand or stopped working directly in the field of Medical Radiation Sciences. Annual Subscription Fee $97.20 |
| Associate Membership | Individuals who are not MRTs, but hold an exception to practice from the MRTB. Annual Subscription Fee $97.20 |
| Student Membership | The NZSMIRT offers free student membership to all student MRTs enrolled in a New Zealand undergraduate Medical Radiation Sciences programme accredited by the NZSMIRT. If you are newly qualified please email us to upgrade your membership. |
| Trade Membership | Individuals employed in business as a supplier of equipment or products in the field of Medical Radiation Sciences. Email for further information. |

- Representing members at national level – The NZSMIRT proactively represents the interests of MITs and RTs at governmental level by providing representatives that sit on committees as required.

Code of Ethics
The Medical Radiation Technologists Board introduced the current MRTB-Code-of-Ethics-V3 for the profession in 2017.
